DSLR Kamera Test Vollformat

15.02.2013

We have in our observatory some owners of full frame DSLR cameras.
I belong to, more recently, also in this group, after I got myself a Canon EOS 6D.
Well for me, the question has arisen as to what extent is now the new Eos 6D compared to other
Full frame cameras in our observatory group. Behaves
We have now made on a Friday afternoon test photographs.
It refers in this test bears solely on the sound of the camera images.
Since there are only the two Canon cameras that a Kind lens was used, can be used to compare image resolution
if at all, only there to be determined.
The test is not an absolute test, it reflects only the behavior of the three tested cameras.
There is thus no guarantee that is also another identical camera models behave like
The cameras used in the test.
The following cameras have been tested:

Canon EOS 6D
5472 x 3649 pixels => 20.2 MPI
Color Depth 14 bit

Canon EOS 5D MK II
5,616 x 3,744 pixels => 21.1 MPI
Color Depth 14 bit

Nikon D800
7360 x 4912 pixels => 36.1 MPI
Color Depth 14 bit

It was taking pictures of a test image from about 2.5 meters away with 100mm focal length
All pictures were taken at f/11 and without any internal camera settings
like. e.g. Tonwertbearbeitung etc..
It was precisely in focus at a point in the middle.
Only the white balance was set to "tungsten", since as a light source "Worklight" came to use.

Were used for evaluation only RAW images, which the EOS 6D ago
converted by a program in Adobe DNG RAW images.
The program used for opening / rendering the images is PS CS fifth
Unfortunately, Adobe CS 5 provides for no RAW converter for EOS 6D images to Verfühgung, only the
program described.

This DNG image corresponds exactly with all its possibilities the Canon RAW.
see following:
http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_Negative

To self-test I have the Canon EOS 5D MKII files sent by the DNG Converter and this
then by PS CS 5 DNG converter you can open your own, just like the RAW files with PS CS 5 RAW converter.
Then I subtracted the images of each other and got a completely black screen with no information.
So seems that the Canon RAW to DNG RAW correspond to 100%.
So I am assuming that this corresponds to the Canon RAW DNG.
There have now been at a constant aperture (aperture priority) with different ISO values ??
taken the test image.
The camera steered while the exposure time.
Then all images were loaded into PS CS 5, which again in the RAW settings all
Controlled settings for noise reduction, etc., was whether these were actually disabled.
After all the images were arangiert together and with each other, were in accordance with the respective image settings
Screenshot created, which were then provided with PS font and are presented here now.
The first picture shows the raw images loaded with 100% magnification without irgentwelche processing.
Intuitively, the Nikon with its 36 mega pixels (MPI) provides a much larger image.
I have not changed the image size during the evaluation.

In the second step, I then adjusted the white balance but significantly different from the cameras.

Come on I am laid in such

Through this step, the images are comparable to some extent with each other, I
but refer again to the fact that there is certainly no 100% method.
Here is the picture that shows the image center:

Now get 7 pictures with different areas:

Everyone can now form the basis of the test images shown itself a judgment.
In another test, the behavior of the cameras will be tested in long-term exposure.
These cameras are the latest in the same room at the same cooling time with the same Isozahl 10 images a '
5 minutes to make and they will be charged a sum Dark together.
Then can a statement about the noise during long exposure times by thermal efects in the camera
. say
This test will follow.
A redirection of the test is permitted, but ask when you use the images for other purposes only.
